Saludos desde Mexico! I pray this update finds you well and we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
I wanted to give you an update of the trip. Praise the Lord!
I finished the Marriage Conference in Ocosingo a couple of days ago. One hundred and thirty married couples attended and 30 singles. I preformed a wedding ceremony for twelve couples and fifteen couples renewed their vows. It was "cool" (as we Gringo Ecuadorians would say!) to see the Lord work in the hearts of those attending. You could see the Holy Spirit working! Please pray for this marriages that they would continue to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness! The pastor of the church was very blessed and asked that I return next year to bring the Inductive Bible Study Seminar! Please be praying for that as well!
It has been a pleasure to see so many brothers and sisters we knew fifteen years ago. Everyone gave us a warm welcome. I say us because as I mentioned in our last e-mail brother Rod Shaddeau from Florida is accompanying me on this trip. I have asked him to share his outlook on the trip, so that will follow my update.
We are now in Jaltenango, Chiapas. Today will be the last day of the IBS seminar. I will share more in the next update.
Please keep us in your prayers! There is much warfare, but greater is He who is in us! Praise the Lord over and over again for He is our Almighty God! May the Lord bless you today as you give thanks to the Lord for ALL He has done and is doing in your lives! Let us give thanks today and everyday!
FROM ROD SHADDEAU
Dear Friends,
I wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed my time with pastor Carlos this week. I have completed my first week with him here in Chiapas, Mexico. My time with him has been a blessing to see so many couples respond to the teaching. It has touched my heart to see how time away from his family to be used by our Lord and the investment in the people of South America and Mexico.
This past week has been awesome, I was able to give my testimony to 130 couples in Ocosingo, Mexico of how wonderful my wife is and most importantly, how God has blessed our marriage as a result of living by His Word. Pastor Carlos performed a marriage ceremony for twelve couples that weren’t married, additionally, we had over twenty-four give their life to the Lord, not to mention the 15 couples that re-dedicated their marriages to our Lord. The couples responds was overwhelming to the message. The Lord also spoke to me as to how much I cherish my wife, Karen.
Today we began the second week of the trip in Jaltengo, Chaipas for the Intensive Care Ministries – Inductive Bible Study. Lastly it amazes me how the people welcome pastor Carlos with open arms as we have stayed in their homes and fed us. I am amazed at everything and praise God for men like pastor Carlos
Rod
