This third trip to Bolivia was a total success! It was a two-fold purpose ministry trip, however the Lord had more planned!
For the first part of my time to Bolivia I was a part of Pastor Dan Finfrock's IBS team as his translator. I was very blessed to work along side Pastor Dan.
Approximately 300 ministry leaders signed up for the seminar, but the limit was 200. The eagerness and enthusiasm the pastors had was wonderful and encouraging to see. The seminar lasted four days. I was impressed with the way the seminar was conducted. The focus was not only how to interpret the Bible but also how to make practical applications of the Word of God. The Lord is opening more doors in several cities through out the country of Bolivia to hold more seminars. I pray more seminars will be conducted in the near future as the Lord provides.
At the IBS seminar I met a missionary dentist, who offered to teach me how to extract teeth. Why would I be interested in pulling teeth? (You may ask!) The answer is: Africa! I am still making trips to Africa periodically and learning all I can in the medical and dental field to help the precious people I have come to love and minister to. This is the part of the trip the Lord had planned for me!
The second purpose I went to Bolivia was to follow-up with the Seminario Teologico Seguidores De Cristo. The trip to the jungle was adventurous do to the roads and weather condition. The roads are not paved and when it rains they become very muddy and slippery. In addition there were alligators crossing the road from time to time! I was even able to see an anaconda on the side of the road by a lake!
This time I started 20 more students in another area of the jungle. The brothers and sisters are very excited and enthusiastic about serving the Lord. Thirty brothers and sister are going to be receiving their diploma, Lord willing next year.
The Lord is also opening more doors for Seminario Teologico Seguidores De Cristo in other cities. I look forward to continue working with the brothers in Bolivia.
As always it is good to come home to my family and share all the Lord is doing. To know and see how they support me in what we are doing is a blessing!
Thank you again for your prayers!
