SPAIN In the beginning....

¡Saludos desde España!

We would like to begin with sharing about our home base for the ministry the Lord has placed us in, Spain. In the future we will share more about the church in Jerez de la Frontera. This is just an introduction of how the Lord opened doors for us to come to Spain.

After six years of ministry in Mexico, in 1994 God made it clear to our family that it was time to move back to the United States and seek His direction for future ministry. Yolanda and I had a desire for Spain, so we prayed to see if the Lord would open doors for ministry. In 1996 I met with a brother that was interested in knowing about the ministry we had in Mexico. It turns out that he had just returned from Spain and gave me the information of the contacts he had made.

Yolanda and I prepared an outreach team to Spain in 1997, during that time we visited various cities. Among them Jerez de la Frontera. It was at that time that the Lord confirmed our calling.

A year later w
e returned with proper visas arranged to live and minister in Jerez de la Frontera! Shortly after we started a home Bible Study (photo to the left) that has developed to what is known today as "Calvario de Jerez".
Today Calvario de Jerez is an international congregation. There are families from Spain, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay, Guatemala, the United States and us Ecuadorian gringos, now Spaniards! By Gods grace one of the young men in our church is attending Bible Collage in Brazil.
The Lord has given our small congregation a vision for missions. Four and a half years ago the Lord opened doors to minister in the Mid-Atlas mountains of Morocco, and a year ago He opened doors to Bolivia. In weeks to follow we will share more about these ministries.

May the Lord bless you!

Seeking His Kingdom,
Carlos and Yolanda

Hey guys,

Great post! In the time that I spent there with you, I don't think I ever took the time to check out pictures from the past of the church. It would be great to see some more.

Have a great weekend. We love and miss you guys dearly.

Blessings,
Frank
